Offensive Player of the Week
Logan Parry, Belmont Abbey
A senior forward from Greensboro, North Carolina, Logan Parry put together one of the best individual performances in a single game in Conference Carolinas and Belmont Abbey history with six goals in a win over Virginia State on Sept. 2.
The six goals in the 14-0 victory over Virginia State was the most in all of NCAA Division II through the opening weekend of play. Parry leads Conference Carolinas and is presently tied for the national lead in goals per game at 3.00. Parry started both games of Belmont Abbey’s 2-0 opening weekend that also included a 4-2 win over Anderson on Aug. 31.
Defensive Player of the Week
Nicole Solicito, Mount Olive
A graduate student from Stony Point, New York, Nicole Solicito was pivotal for Mount Olive in its impressive 0-0 tie with Lenoir-Rhyne. The goalkeeper made eight big saves in a game in which Lenoir-Rhyne finished with a 21-6 overall shot advantage.
Solicito has not allowed a goal in her 135 minutes in goal in the 2023 season. She started the first half and did not give up a goal in Mount Olive’s eventual 2-1 season-opening loss to Lincoln Memorial on Aug. 31 with all three goals coming in the second half. Solicito then logged all 90 minutes in goal in the 0-0 tie with Lenoir-Rhyne on Sept. 2.
