Barton and Belmont Abbey Share Top of Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C.Barton and Belmont Abbey have been picked to share the Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse title this season as voted by the head coaches in the 2024 preseason poll.

The Bulldogs, fresh off the program's first men’s lacrosse tournament championship, garnered 45 points and four first-place votes while the 2023 regular season champion Crusaders matched them with 45 points and the four remaining first-place tallies. Mount Olive and 2023 tournament runner-up North Greenville tied for third in the poll with 35 points each.

Chowan was picked fifth with 22 points followed by conference newcomer Young Harris (21), Emmanuel (12) and Lees-McRae (9).

The regular season gets underway on Friday, Feb. 2 with the conference tournament slated to begin on campus sites April 23. The semifinals and finals of the championship will be held April 26 and 28 at Barton in Wilson, North Carolina.
