Mount Olive Chosen to Win Fourth Straight Women’s Lacrosse Title

GREENVILLE, S.C.The women’s lacrosse coaches have picked Mount Olive to four-peat as conference champions in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll announced on Jan. 25. 

The Trojans, who went a perfect 9-0 in league play last year for the second straight season, garnered 77 points and 5-of-10 first-place votes to edge 2023 runner-up Belmont Abbey who collected 76 points and four first-place nods. Young Harris was picked third with 58 points and the final first-place vote while Barton and North Greenville are tied for fourth with 53 points.

Emmanuel was selected fifth with 41 points followed by Converse (38), Lees-McRae (20), Chowan (18) and Southern Wesleyan (16).

The regular season begins on Saturday, Feb. 3 with the conference championship set to get underway on April 22. The semifinals and finals of the championship will be played on April 25 and April 27 at Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
