Belmont Abbey Tops Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas men’s tennis head coaches voted on the 2024 Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Preseason Poll and Belmont Abbey was selected to win a fourth regular-season title.
The Crusaders, who won the past two tournament titles and had at least a share of two of the past three regular-season titles, collected 93 points and six-of-10 first-place votes while 2023 regular-season champion and tournament runner-up Francis Marion was picked second with 85 points and two first-place votes. Mount Olive was picked third with 80 points and the remaining first-place tallies. Conference newcomer Young Harris was picked fourth with 74 points and Emmanuel rounded out the top five with 60 points.
Barton was sixth with 59 points followed by Lees-McRae (44), Converse (38), North Greenville (35), Chowan (24) and King (13).
The spring season begins today with the conference championship set for April 26-28 at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
