Conference Carolinas Holds Developmental Men’s Wrestling Championship

BELMONT, N.C.– The inaugural Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Developmental Championship was held on Monday, Jan. 29 in Belmont, North Carolina inside the Wheeler Center on the campus of Belmont Abbey.

In the 10 weight classes, 61 student-athletes competed with the top three in each weight class earning a championship award. Those winners are listed below. 

While there was no team award, Lander collected the most team points with 110.5 followed by Mount Olive (60) and Belmont Abbey (51.5). The event was streamed on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network and can be watched on-demand at ConferenceCarolinasdn.com. The full brackets are also available here. Earlier this fall Conference Carolinas announced that a developmental championship will be held in men’s soccer, men’s wrestling, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s volleyball and baseball. The developmental teams will be composed of student-athletes that have either not competed at the varsity level in 2023-24 or have competed sparingly at the varsity level by the time of the championship.
