KJ Jones II of Emmanuel Named the D2CIDA National Men's Basketball Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – KJ Jones II of Emmanuel has been named the Division II men's basketball Player of the Week by D2CIDA. 

A senior guard from Atlanta, Georgia, KJ Jones II picked up his third weekly honor from Conference Carolinas and second D2CIDA award after averaging 31.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game in Emmanuel’s three games over the holiday season. 

Jones shot 53 percent (26-of-49) from the field in the three games and knocked down 61 percent (11-of-18) of his three-point attempts. He connected on 31 of his 35 free throw attempts (89 percent) in the three games. The nation’s leading scorer at 26.5 points per game, Jones scored over 20 in all three games, including posting 43 in a victory over Lenoir-Rhyne. 

Jones leads Conference Carolinas in scoring (26.5), free throw percentage (89.8) and minutes (37.5 per game), but he is also in the top-10 in assists (3.8) and in the top-15 in steals (1.5) and field goal percentage (49.1).
