Men's and women's soccer developmental championship preview

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Soccer Developmental Championships kick off on Monday, October 21. The men’s preliminary rounds will be hosted by North Greenville University and the University of Mount Olive while the women’s championship is hosted at Francis Marion University.

The championships, which are unique championship opportunity for developmental teams within Conference Carolinas, features eight men’s teams competing at two preliminary round sites and four women’s team competing at one site. The men’s championship will then have a championship contest on Monday, October 28 at Francis Marion between the two preliminary site winners.

The women’s championship, in Florence, South Carolina, features Belmont Abbey College against host Francis Marion University at 11:00 a.m., followed by Mount Olive against Converse University at 1:00 p.m. The consolation match will take place at 3:00 p.m. with the championship match at 5:00 p.m. All four matches will be 60 minutes in length.

The men’s championship starts with two preliminary sites. Competing in Tigerville, South Carolina will be host North Greenville as they take on Converse at 11:00 a.m. King University then takes on Young Harris College at 1:00 p.m. followed by the consolation match at 3:00 p.m. The championship final match will take place at 5:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to the championship the following week.

The Mount Olive, North Carolina bracket features host Mount Olive taking on Barton College at 11:00 a.m. followed by Francis Marion squaring off with Belmont Abbey at 1:00 p.m. The consolation match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. before the final match at 5:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to the championship the following week. All matches will be 60 minutes in length.

The men’s championship concludes at Francis Marion on Monday, October 28 in Florence, South Carolina. The championship match pits both preliminary site winners in a 90-minute match at 4:00 p.m.

In the 2024-25 season Conference Carolinas is scheduled to host a developmental championship in men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball men’s wrestling, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s volleyball and baseball. The developmental teams will be composed of student-athletes that have either not competed at the varsity level in 2024-25 or have competed sparingly at the varsity level by the time of the championship.
