GREENVILLE, S.C. – Leading into the first year of sponsoring women's wrestling, two South Atlantic Conference Carolinas institutions are ranked in the preseason National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Tournament Rankings. Perennial power King University is ranked first while Emmanuel University is ranked 14th.
The Tornado edged defending national champion, the University of Iowa by three points as King tops the poll with 107 while the Hawkeyes are in second with 104 points. King has nine individuals ranked, including three at No. 1, to Iowa's eight total ranked wrestlers. Emmanuel checks into the poll tied for 14th with the University of Dubuque and New Jersey City University as all three schools earned 12 points. The Lions have two individuals ranked.
