GREENVILLE, S.C. – In the latest rankings, Conference Carolinas has 11 members ranked in men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's wrestling and men's basketball.
In the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region men’s soccer poll, Chowan University moved up to seven as they are followed by Converse University at eighth and Francis Marion University at 10th. On the women's side, UNC Pembroke is ranked eighth, followed by Belmont Abbey College at ninth.
Following the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships, seven cross country programs are ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region rankings. UNC Pembroke and Converse have both their men's and women's teams ranked with the UNC Pembroke men ranked sixth and the women ranked ninth. Converse's men are ranked seventh and the women eighth. Joining them on the men's side is Lees-McRae College at eighth and Belmont Abbey at 10th, and on the women's side, North Greenville University leads the way at seventh.
The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their preseason rankings in men's and women's wrestling and in the first year of Conference Carolinas women's wrestling, the league has the top-ranked team in King University. The Tornado have 12 individuals ranked while Emmanuel University joins them in the rankings at 14th with two ranked individuals.
In the men's NWCA rankings, 2024 national runner-up Lander University is ranked 14th with four individuals ranked while UNC Pembroke is ranked 22nd with three ranked individuals. Belmont Abbey and Newberry College have two ranked individuals as they were among the "others receiving votes" in the poll.
Defending Conference Carolinas men's basketball champion, UNC Pembroke is receiving votes in the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Preseason Poll.
