WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Elliie Jackson | Emmanuel | Outside Hitter | Sophomore | Jacksonville, Florida

Jackson posted at least 12 kills in all three matches and added two matches with at least 20 digs. In three Lion wins, the sophomore averaged 4.36 kills and 4.82 digs per set and hit a blistering .306. The outside hitter started the week with 20 kills, .304 attack percentage and 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Georgia College. She followed that with 12 kills, .500 attack percentage and eight digs in a sweep of Young Harris before closing the week with 16 kills and 25 digs in a 3-1 win over Converse.

SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Lyndsay Reid | Mount Olive | Setter | Sophomore | Thomasville, North Carolina

A native of Thomasville, North Carolina, Reid totaled 78 assists, 12 service aces, and 25 digs over three matches, as Mount Olive delivered a 3-0 record in conference play. Since Oct. 1, the Trojans have posted a 15-1 overall mark while going 14-0 in league action. On Wednesday night, she guided the offense with 28 assists, five aces, and seven digs in a 3-0 sweep versus Francis Marion. Reid followed up with an assist/dig double-double behind 34 assists, 10 digs, and five aces on Friday in a 3-2 win at Converse. The next day, she directed the offense with 16 assists, two aces, and eight digs in a 3-0 win at Belmont Abbey.

Lauren Mingo | Barton | Guard | Junior | Clinton, Maryland

The Barton junior guard led the Bulldogs to a season-opening win over Newberry. In the contest, Mingo stole the inbounds pass and connected on a three-point play with two seconds left which proved to be the game-winner. For the week, she averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals in leading the Bulldogs to a 1-1 week. In that win over Newberry, she registered seven steals along with 17 points and eight rebounds. She then scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds against Augusta.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Kiara Croskey | Francis Marion | Guard | Freshman | Sumter, South Carolina

Croskey helped the Patriots split a pair of contests against Coker and Wingate. For the week, she averaged 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. She shot 63.6 percent from the floor and was 5-of-6 at the foul line. Against Coker, the freshman recorded 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. In the win over Wingate, she accounted for four rebounds and three steals.
 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Shawn Nelson | Barton | Guard | Senior | Miami, Florida

The Barton senior guard averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading the Bulldogs to a 1-1 week to start the year. In Barton's 87-86 win over Augusta, Nelson poured 26 points to help the Bulldogs erase a 20-point deficit. He added five rebounds and six assists in the contest. The day prior, he scored 15 points to go along with five rebounds and two assists.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Mikhail Pocknett | King | Forward | Sophomore | Wilmington, North Carolina

In two contests last week, Pocknett averaged 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game, along with 18 points and seven rebounds. On Saturday in the season-opener against Carson-Newman, he had 24 points, along with three steals, five rebounds and a block. On Sunday against UVA Wise, the sophomore posted two steals, two blocks and nine rebounds, seven of which came on the defensive glass, while adding 12 points and going 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
