Johnson, a defender, scored all three goals for the Bulldogs, all coming on free kicks, leading the Bulldogs to a 1-0-1 week. She netted the Bulldogs' only goal in a 1-1 tie at Mount Olive on Tuesday and added two more in a 2-1 victory over Chowan on Friday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Taylor Primack | Barton | Goalkeeper | Senior | Lindenhurst, Illinois

Primack posted seven saves in a Barton win and tie last week. The senior started with a pair of saves in a 1-1 draw with Mount Olive before turning away five shots in a 2-1 win over Chowan.

Juan Salazar Lopez | Francis Marion | Forward | Junior | Palmira, Colombia

Salazar Lopez posted three goals on six shots to lead the Patriots to a pair of wins. He tallied the tying goal in a come-from-behind 2-1 road win at Lenoir-Rhyne. The junior then scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Mount Olive, including the fastest goal in program history 19 seconds after kickoff, as Francis Marion clinched the Conference Carolinas East Division title.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Gabriel Verona | Converse | Defender | Senior | São Lourenço do Oeste, Santa Catarina, Brazil

The defender anchored the back row for the Valkyries in a win and a draw last week. The Converse defense only allowed six shots in 180 minutes. Verona accounted for the Converse goal in a 1-1 draw with Lees-McRae, coming on a penalty kick.

Lillian Prendergast | Mount Olive | 103 pounds | Freshman | Southport, North Carolina

A native of Southport, North Carolina, Prendergast posted a perfect 3-0 record at 103 pounds on Saturday at the Trojan Open. After receiving an opening-round bye, she produced a fall in just 48 seconds over Olivia Collins of Greensboro in the quarterfinals before defeating Morgan Repasky of Montreat by a 10-0 tech fall. In the championship match, Prendergast captured the individual title via forfeit over Angelina Casteneda of the University of the Cumberlands.

Avery Buonocore | UNC Pembroke | 141 pounds | Sophomore | Wilmington, North Carolina

Buonocore opened the season with a first place finish at the PJ Smith Pembroke Classic, winning all four of his bouts. He topped Florida's Ethan Vugman before back-to-back technical fall victories, 19-3 over Curtis Johnson and 15-0 over Coker Frank Bianco. He then pinned Cokers James Gonzalez in 5:50 to take the title at 141 pounds.
