Eight from Conference Carolinas selected all-region from United Soccer Coaches

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The United Soccer Coaches released its 2024 All-Southeast Region men’s and women’s soccer teams on Tuesday and eight Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized.
 
Six men and two women were recognized, representing four different institutions, Chowan University, Francis Marion University, UNC Pembroke and Young Harris College.
 
FULL MEN’S ALL-REGION TEAMS
 
The Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, Junior Smith of Chowan along with Francis Marion’s Mario Buelga and John Osadolor all garnered second team honors. Buelga earned first team all-conference honors while Osadolor earned second team all-conference recognition.
 
On the all-region third team is David Guevara of Francis Marion, Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, Robbie Deighan of Chowan and Thomas Kleinpenning of Young Harris. Kleinpenning was a first team all-conference selection and Guevara garnered third team recognition.
 
FULL WOMEN’S ALL-REGION TEAMS
 
Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, Kristina Syragakis of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke’s Anna Grossheim garnered second team all-region honors. Both were named first team all-conference.
