Three women's soccer players from Conference Carolinas selected D2CCA All-America

FULL D2CCA WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-AMERICA SELECTIONS

GREENVILLE, S.C. –
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) released its 2024 All-America women’s soccer teams on Tuesday and three Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized.

Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke, Kristina Syragakis of Francis Marion University and Chiara Coppin of Lees-McRae College all garnered first team recognition. All three were previously selected first team all-region by the D2CCA and first team All-Conference Carolinas.

Syragakis was also selected Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year. She led Conference Carolinas with 18 goals scored, including the game-winner in the conference championship game with 7.8 seconds remaining to give the Patriots their first Conference Carolinas title. She also led the league with 44 points and ranked third in the league with eight assists. In all of NCAA Division II, Syragakis ranked third in goals per game (0.95), third in points per game (2.32).

Grossheim ranked third in Conference Carolinas with 12 goals and fifth with seven assists. Her 31 points ranked third in the league. She ranked 31st in NCAA Division II with an average of 0.41 assists per game and 16th with 0.71 goals per game. Her points per game average of 1.82 ranked eighth nationally.

Coppin garnered Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading the league in goals against average (0.247), shutouts (12) and save percentage (.920). Coppin’s 12 shutouts ranked fifth in all of NCAA Division II and her goals against average and save percentage ranked third in the country.

The Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award was named for long-time South Dakota State sports information director Ron Lenz in 2008. Lenz was instrumental in the foundation of the NCAA Division II All-America program, which honors outstanding student-athletes across eight NCAA Division II sports.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. A total of 39 student-athletes representing 30 different institutions filled out the three teams.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
