Kory Grant of Mount Olive Named AVCA Men’s Volleyball National Collegiate Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kory Grant of Mount Olive has been selected as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men’s Volleyball National Collegiate Player of the Week.

A sophomore right side/setter from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Grant averaged 5.14 points per set with 30 kills on a staggering .565 hitting percentage in two Trojan league wins last week. 

Last Friday night, Grant led the team with 12 kills on a .588 clip while adding four digs and two blocks in a conference sweep over Erskine. The following day, Grant produced a career-high 17 kills on a .552 hitting percentage with three service aces and two blocks in a 3-1 win against Emmanuel.

Grant is Mount Olive’s fourth AVCA National Player of the Week in men’s volleyball, and its first since 2017. Grant is also the first from Conference Carolinas to claim the honor since Joshua Kim of King on March 27, 2022.
