Ungo and Pepe Pugliese Collect All-America Honors on Thursday at NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships
GENEVA, Ohio - Two Conference Carolinas swimmers earned All-America honors on Thursday at the 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.
Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Year Susana Ungo of Emmanuel garnered All-America honors in the 100-yard butterfly. Ungo's time of 54.81 in the consolation final allowed her to finish 13th overall in the event. One day earlier, Ungo just missed out on a spot in the finals in the 200 IM with a finish of 17th in the prelims.
Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year Benedetta Pepe Pugliese of UNC Pembroke improved her prelim time by over two seconds in the 400 IM to 4:23.44 to collect All-America honors. She finished 14th overall in the event.
The 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships continue tomorrow at the SPIRE Institute Aquatics Center. All five days of the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be
