Tanner Halvorson of Barton Tabbed NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week

SALISBURY, N.C. - Tanner Halvorson of Barton has been chosen as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week. 

In two starts, Halvorson threw two complete game conference victories last week in a 4-1 win over Young Harris on Monday and a 4-2 victory over Belmont Abbey on Sunday. 

Halvorson struck out 19 batters this past week and pushed his record this year to 6-0 with a 2.57 earned run average and 62 strikeouts. Halvorson, last year's Pitcher of the Year in the league, has a 17-game winning streak dating back to last year. He struck out 11 batters against 11th-ranked Young Harris before striking out eight in a win over Belmont Abbey.
