Taylor named third team All-American by D2CCA
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lauryn Taylor of Francis Marion earned third team All-American honors from the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association when they announced their honorees on Tuesday.
Taylor was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. The senior forward/center from Blythewood, South Carolina, is one of two women’s basketball players to win both awards in one season. She also garnered honorable mention All-America Honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) last week.
Taylor leads all of NCAA Division II with 15.0 rebounds per game. She is the only player in Division II to capture 400 or more rebounds this season. She finished the season with an average of 17.7 points per game, ranking her second in Conference Carolinas. Her 22 double-doubles led Conference Carolinas and rank second nationally.
