Belmont Abbey draws Alabama State in NCAA Women's Bowling first round
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The 2024 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Women’s Bowling champion Belmont Abbey will appear in the NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship on Thursday, April 4 for the first time in program history.
This marks the first time a Conference Carolinas team will compete in the NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship.
Belmont Abbey will travel to Arlington, Texas as the Crusaders earned the No. 5 seed and will face Alabama State in the opening round. The single elimination mega-match will take place on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. (ET), 9:00 a.m. (CT) at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.
The double elimination bracket includes No. 1 seed North Carolina A&T as well as No. 2 Sam Houston State and No. 3 Louisiana Tech. Mega-Matches consist of a best two-of-three format including a traditional team match, a five-game Baker total pinfall match and a best four-of-seven regular Baker match.
The four region sites will take place Thursday-Saturday with four teams competing at two sites and five at the other two sites. The four regional winners advance to the championship finals on April 12-13 at Thunderbowl in Allen Park, Michigan.
