LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpich Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the 120 student-athletes as part of the 2024 Tucci/NFCA Division II Players and Pitchers of the Year this week. Five athletes from Conference Carolinas were recognized.

The list is broken down into the eight NCAA Regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West) with up to 15 student-athletes represented in each region. The list is compiled by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions. To be eligible, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member.

In the Southeast Region, Miranda Holmes from Barton, Alyssa Poston and Taylor Watford of Francis Marion, Jessica Campbell from King and Kylie Emanuele from Mount Olive were all listed.

Holmes has tossed 11 complete games for the Bulldogs this year and owns a 2.29 ERA with six shutouts. She also owns 164 strikeouts in 102 innings pitched.

Waford leads the Francis Marion offense with a .388 batting average as she has blasted eight home runs and has driven in 45 runs this season.

Poston leads the Patriot pitching staff with a 1.56 ERA as she has tossed 16 compete games, including seven shutouts.

Campbell is hitting .537 on the season with 19 runs scored, six doubles, three triples and four homer runs. She has also driven in 22 runs for the Tornado this season.

Emanuele owns a .495 batting average with 55 hits, including 16 home runs and 10 doubles. She has scored 44 runs this season and has driven in 58 runs to lead the Mount Olive offense.

Voted on by the NFCA’s Division II All-American Committee, the 2024 Tucci/NFCA Player and Pitcher of the Year winners will be announced on May 27 following the conclusion of the NCAA Division II National Championships. All student-athletes are eligible for the end-of-the-season award and do not have to be on this list to be considered.

The Player of the Year award was created in 2015 to honor the outstanding athletic achievements among softball student-athletes throughout NCAA Division II. In 2019, the Association expanded the award to include a Player and Pitcher of the Year.
