Barton Wins Second Straight Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship
SNOW HILL, N.C. – Barton picked up its second straight Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday, Apr. 23 at the par-72, 7,280-yard Cutter Creek Golf Course.
Nationally 17th-ranked Barton claimed a 35-stroke win in collecting its second straight team title with a three-round score of 861 (295-290-276). Barton improved its team score each day to best second-place finisher Mount Olive (896) by the 35 strokes. Belmont Abbey (900) finished third as a team.
Three Barton players finished tied for the individual lead at 1-under 215 in Harrison Wierse (74-72-69), Ryan Jahr (73-72-70) and Kris Jackson (73-72-70).
Wierse took home individual medalist honors and the Conference Carolinas individual title by winning the playoff between the three teammates.
