Conference Carolinas announces 2024 women's lacrosse all-conference awards
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Prior to the start of the Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals, the league announced their major award winners and all-conference selections.
The all-conference awards were chosen by the league’s head coaches.
Logan Hibbard of Mount Olive was selected offensive player of the year, the third Trojan in history to win the award and second in the last two seasons. Hibbard is among the league leaders in goals and assists, ranking her second in the league with an average of 5.75 points per game. She has scored 53 goals and added 39 assists for a total of 92 points. She ranks third with an average of 2.44 assists per game and fifth with an average of 3.31 goals per game.
Mount Olive’s Morgan Dow was named defensive player of the year, marking the seventh straight year the Trojans have had the defensive player of the year. She ranked fifth in the league with an average of 2.00 caused turnovers per game and averaged 2.00 ground balls per game.
Paige Murphy of Emmanuel was tabbed freshman of the year as she leads NCAA Division II with 113 goals for an average of 6.28 goals per game. She added 38 assists to average 8.39 points per game and lead Conference Carolinas. Her 2.11 assists per game ranks fifth in the league.
Mount Olive’s Heather Coppola was named coach of the year after leading the Trojans to a 9-0 Conference Carolinas and the regular season title. The Trojans are 14-3 overall and are the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Championship. This marks her third coach of the year award, previously winning in 2021 and 2022.
