Conference Carolinas announces 2024 Baseball Championship bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – North Greenville won their third straight Conference Carolinas regular season title, earning the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship. The tournament is scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 1 at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia, North Carolina with three games also being played at Sims Legion Park.
The Crusaders earned the program’s fifth regular season title with a 24-6 conference mark while going 40-10 overall. The third-ranked program in the latest NCBWA Top-25 Poll, North Greenville will await the winner of the single elimination play-in game between No. 8 seed Erskine (24-24, 15-14 CC) and No. 9 seed Francis Marion (18-29, 9-21 CC) on May 1 at 2:00 p.m. The winner will face the Crusaders on Thursday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m.
Young Harris earned the second seed with a 22-8 record in conference games, going 38-11 overall. The eight-ranked Mountain Lions will take on the winner of No. 7 seed Belmont Abbey (24-23, 16-14 CC) and 10th seed King (14-31, 7-21 CC). The first round, single elimination game will be on May 1 at 7:00 p.m. and the winner will take on Young Harris on May 2 at 3:00 p.m.
Third seed Mount Olive, fourth seed UNC Pembroke, fifth seed Emmanuel and sixth seed Barton are in the double elimination portion of the bracket. Mount Olive (34-14, 20-9 CC) is ranked 16th in the latest NCBWA poll and will take on Barton (34-14, 17-13 CC) on May 2 at 7:00 p.m. while UNC Pembroke (38-12, 19-11 CC), who is receiving votes in the NCBWA poll, will face Emmanuel (30-20, 18-12 CC) at 1:00 p.m. on May 2 in the first game at Sims Legion Park.
The tournament starts with two play-in, single-elimination games on Wednesday, May 1 starting with the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds squaring off at 1:00 p.m. before the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds face off at 5:00 p.m. Three games then take place on Thursday, May 2 starting at 11:00 a.m.
The double elimination bracket then starts on Thursday with four games starting at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3 will feature four games at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. with possibly two team’s tournaments ending. Saturday, May 4 will also have four games, two at 11:00 a.m., followed by games at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Two contests would take place on Sunday, May 5, with games slated for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The if necessary championship game would take place on Monday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m.
