Lander, Converse advance to acrobatics & tumbling semifinals

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2024 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship started on Saturday with a pair of tight meets. Third seed Lander defeated Emmanuel early in the afternoon before Converse upset Belmont Abbey Saturday evening.
Third seed Lander edged sixth seed Emmanuel, narrowly winning four of the six events in the first quarterfinal. The Bearcats took the 244.735-241.275 victory to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, April 13.
Converse and Belmont Abbey went back-and-forth on Saturday evening as the Valkyries edged the Crusaders in the team event to take the meet 256.475-254.725.
The semifinal meets, event finals and championship will all be held at King University in Bristol, Tennessee. The first semifinal meet will feature top seed Limestone against fifth seed Converse at 12:00 p.m. Lander will then take on second seed Coker at 3:00 p.m.
Sunday’s event finals will start at 11:00 a.m. with an awards ceremony to follow. Later that night the championship meet will take place at 5:00 p.m.
