Belmont Abbey's Stegura selected NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week
SALISBURY, N.C. – Drew Stegura of Belmont Abbey has been selected National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week.
Stegura put together his best career start in a Belmont Abbey uniform by pitching a complete-game one-hit shutout against third-ranked North Greenville Saturday afternoon in the first game of a doubleheader. Stegura matched his career high with seven strikeouts to just two walks as the Abbey earned a 7-0 victory over the Crusaders.
Additionally, Stegura pitched the ninth inning and did not allow an earned run in the 7-4 win over Limestone in the first game of a doubleheader sweep against the Saints.
