Nine Conference Carolinas teams mentioned in NCAA Southeast Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – In the latest set of regional rankings, Conference Carolinas has nine members among the top in the region across men's and women's tennis, softball and baseball.

The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis and Baseball Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.

In softball, Francis Marion is ranked third with a region record of 41-11. The Patriots are 45-11 overall and won their second striaght Conference Carolinas championship on Sunday, April 28. Emmanuel finished runner-up to Francis Marion and the Lions are ranked ninth this week with a record of 35-24 in the region and overall.

Erskine is ranked fifth in women's tennis following their conference title last weekend. The Flying Fleet are 18-3 overall and in region matches.

In men's tennis, Belmont Abbey is ranked seventh, Mount Olive is ranked eighth and Young Harris is ninth. Belmont Abbey won the conference title over Mount Olive as the Crusaders are 19-8 overall and in region. Mount Olive is 17-4 overall and in region matches while Young Harris is 12-7 overall and 12-6.

Conference Carolinas has five members ranked in baseball, North Greenville (2nd), Mount Olive (3rd), Young Harris (4th), UNC Pembroke  (6th) and Barton (7th). North Greenville owns records of 40-10 overall and 37-10 in region while Mount Olive is 34-14 overall and 31-14 in region. Young Harris is 37-11 overall and in region games while UNC Pembroke is 38-12 overall and 37-12 in region contests. Barton owns records of 34-14 overall and 29-14 in region games.

The next set of region rankings for baseball will come out on Wednesday, May 8.
