GREENVILLE, S.C. –
Conference Carolinas had two student-athletes recognized on Wednesday when the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their NCAA Division II All-America selections. Kylie Emanuele of Mount Olive garnered first team honors and Alyssa Adams of Emmanuel earned second team recognition.

Emanuele was selected to the first team as an at-large third base selection. She garnered first team All-Conference Carolinas honors as well as first team all-southeast region. Her .463 batting average ranked 14th in NCAA Division II and second in Conference Carolinas. She also ranked fifth in the league with 75 hits and her 19 home runs ranked second in the conference. Emanuele drove in 71 runs, ranking her seventh nationally and third in the league. She also ranked in the nation’s top 10 in slugging percentage (.932, seventh) and total bases (151, eighth).

Adams earned second team All-America honors at second base. She was selected as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and first team all-southeast region. She led Conference Carolinas and ranked seventh in NCAA Division II with 20 home runs. Her 153 total bases also led Conference Carolinas and ranked fifth nationally. Adams drove in 73 runs, ranking her sixth in the country and second in the league. She finished the season with a .398 batting average and .801 slugging percentage.

The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by the Association’s All-America Committees. In Division II, the committee is comprised of one member head coach from each of the NCAA’s eight regions. All student-athletes who were nominated  by a member head coach and voted to the first- or second-team All-Region squads were eligible for All-America consideration.
