Mount Olive's Trimbur highlights Conference Carolinas at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
EMPORIA, Kan. – The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships closed on a high note for Conference Carolinas on Saturday. Mount Olive’s Danielle Trimbur earned All-America honors in the javelin on Saturday afternoon.
Trimbur finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 49.19 meters on her third attempt.
On Thursday, Mount Olive’s Adrienne Crawford finished 16th in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 51.34 meters. The Mount Olive quartet of Channie Jefferson, Chianel Asoburuenwu, Heavan Roberts and LaSira Nicholson set a new Conference Carolinas record, finishing the women’s 4x100 meter relay in 45.46 seconds to take 11th.
In the women’s long jump, Emmanuel’s Jai Piazza finished 13th with a leap of 5.89 meters. In the men’s 100 meter dash preliminaries, North Greenville’s Miles Stephens finished fifth in his heat and 12th overall with a time of 10.26 seconds.
Isabelle Flores of Belmont Abbey finished 11th in the 400 meter hurdles as she crossed the tape in 59.98 seconds to take fourth in her heat.
Stephens then competed in the 200 meter dash on Friday and finished 10th overall and third in his heat with a time of 20.86 seconds. He missed qualifying for the finals by .02 seconds.
