Three Conference Carolinas tennis programs learn their NCAA Division II Championship destinations

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three Conference Carolinas teams learned their destinations in the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships when the NCAA announced their brackets on Monday, May 6. Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive qualified for the men’s field while Erskine qualified for the women’s championship.

Two men’s teams qualified, Conference Carolinas champion Belmont Abbey and runner-up Mount Olive. Belmont Abbey (25-18) earned the seventh seed and will take on second seed and host Columbus State (12-7) on Monday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. Mount Olive (17-5) earned the eighth seed and will face top seed and host Flagler (17-2) on Monday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m.

With a win, Belmont Abbey will take on third seed North Georgia or sixth seed Augusta while Mount Olive will face fourth seed Lander or fifth seed Wingate with a win.

The prelims are scheduled for May 13 and 14 before the championship is scheduled for May 21-25 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The 2024 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis champion Erskine earned the fifth seed in the southeast region. The Flying Fleet (18-3) will travel to host and top seed North Georgia to take on fourth seed Columbus State (14-7) at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10. Erskine will then take on the 22-2 Nighthawks with a win.

The prelims are scheduled for May 10 and 11 before the championship is scheduled for May 20-24 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
