Three Conference Carolinas Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-America

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The 2024 Academic All-America® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Three Conference Carolinas student-athletes earned recognition on Tuesday.

Gracelyn Massey of Barton, and Kylie Emanuele of Mount Olive garnered first team honors while Sydney Watson of Converse earned second team honors.

Massey earned the first team nod at designated player as she has carries a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Nursing. The junior from Princeton, North Carolina earned first team All-Conference Carolinas honors earlier this year. She led Conference Carolinas with a .470 batting average, posting 70 hits, including 20 doubles and 13 home runs. She also drove in 56 runs and scored 36.

Emanuele was selected first team as an infielder as the senior carried a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Elementary Education. The third basemen from Corona, California garnered first team All-Conference Carolinas and first team All-America honors from the National Faspitch Coaches Association (NFCA). She finished third in the league with a batting average of .463 and 71 runs batted in. She registered 75 hits, including 15 doubles and 19 home runs. She also ranked second in the conference with 57 runs scored.

Watson earned second team honors in the outfield. The junior carries a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Elementary Education. The Plant City, Florida native earned second team All-Conference Carolinas in the outfield earlier this year. Watson ranked fifth in the league with a .418 batting average, posting 66 hits. She recorded 12 doubles and 10 home runs and drove in 50 runs.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
