Barton tabbed as Conference Carolinas Sports Medicine Staff of the Year by peers

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton has been chosen by its peers as the 2023-24 Sports Medicine Staff of the Year in Conference Carolinas.

The 2023-24 Barton sports medicine staff was composed of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer Ginna Lewis, Associate Athletic Trainer Francesca Harvey, Assistant Athletic Trainer Alex Miller, Assistant Athletic Trainer Maria Taylor, Assistant Athletic Trainer Katilin Ricklefs, Athletic Training Intern Tomomi Nishihara and Athletic Training Intern Tara Gebur.

“Congratulations to our outstanding athletic trainers on being named Conference Carolinas Athletic Training Staff of the Year! We're fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team overseeing the health and safety of our 700 student-athletes. This award is a fitting testament to the leadership of Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine Ginna Lewis and her terrific staff and we couldn't be more proud," said Ken Tyler, Barton Vice President and Director of Athletics.”

The Sports Medicine Staff of the Year was voted on by the Athletic Trainers Committee (all member institution head athletic trainers) in Conference Carolinas.

“This is a well-deserved recognition for the Barton sports medicine staff,” Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “To win this award for the second time in three years is a testament to their dedication to the Bulldog student-athletes. In a conference that is filled with outstanding athletic training and sports medicine staffs, it’s a wonderful honor for Barton. I also want to take the time to just say thank you to all of our athletic trainers and sports medicine staffs in Conference Carolinas. Their efforts are first-class and nothing could happen without their dedication and support to our student-athletes and member institutions.”
