A 5-foot-2 sophomore at forward, Sanchez delivered a brace in her debut with Mount Olive, as the Trojans battled to a 4-4 draw against Wingate in nonconference play. She registered the opening goal of the season for Mount Olive, coming in the 27th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first half. At the 77:06 mark, Sanchez scored the go-ahead goal off an assist by senior Samantha Hamrick before the contest finished in a tie on Sunday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Amanda Magnin | Southern Wesleyan | GK | Junior | Hilton Head, S.C.

Magnin was key in goal for the Warriors who played to a 1-1 draw with USC Beaufort and only allowed one tally to Newberry. The junior tallied six saves in each contest, posting an .857 save percentage.

In his debut, Esquivel found the back of the net twice for the Warriors. He tallied the first two goals for the Warriors in their 3-2 win at Shaw University.

Gauthier Lumale | King | GK | Senior | Biscarrosse, France

Lumale recorded his second career shutout Saturday, making five saves in a 2-0 win over Tusculum. In his season debut, Lumale stopped all five shots he saw as the Tornado earned their first win of the season. It was the second career shutout for Lumale, and his first since September 24, 2023 when he shutout Carolina University.
