Four Conference Carolinas institutions, 82 student-athletes receive Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released the 2023-24 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and Team Awards with four Conference Carolinas teams and 82 individuals earning recognition.

In all, 89 NCAA Division II teams and 8,054 total collegiate student-athletes earned the honors.

Young Harris College led the recognized programs at eighth in the NCAA Division II poll with a 3.723 GPA. Francis Marion University ranked 44th with a 3.54 mark followed by University of Mount Olive at 65th (3.48), and Converse University at 88th (3.22).

Individually, Young Harris led the way with 23 recipients while Mount Olive followed with 14. Francis Marion (13), King University (12), and Barton College (11) reached double figures while Converse rounded out the group with nine honored individuals.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24. NCAA Division III followed with 2,285 and NCAA Division II with 1,510. NAIA and junior colleges came in with 873 and 808 student-athletes respectively. Five student-athletes from Penn State Brandywine earned recognition in the Other Four-Year category.
