Johnson joined the University of Mount Olive women's track & field program this week as a mid-year transfer. She introduced herself to Pickletown and her teammates by setting a new school record in the long jump with a leap of 5.99 meters at the Finn Pincus Invite, placing her eighth in NCAA Division II. Johnson eclipses the previous record held by Malak Kafi of 5.68 meters which was set back in 2018.

A sophomore sprinter, Roberts captured a first-place finish on Saturday after crossing the line in 25.29 seconds in the 200 meter dash at the Finn Pincus Invite this weekend. She continues to hold the second-fastest time in Conference Carolinas in the 200 meters.

Sigursteinn Asgeirsson | Mount Olive | Sophomore | Throws | Thorgautsstadir, Iceland
A native of Thorgautsstadir, Iceland, Asgeirsson improved his league-leading standard in the shot put this weekend, as the Trojans competed at the Finn Pincus Invite. He placed third overall in the event with a toss of 16.00 meters on his fifth attempt, which ranks second in the Southeast Region this season.

Tayvon Callahan | UNC Pembroke | Senior | Sprints/Hurdles | Hinesville, Georgia
Callahan won the 60 meter hurdles at the Finn Pincus Invitational with an NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 8.12 seconds. That time is also the fastest in Conference Carolinas this season.

Caitlynn Ash | Bluefield State | 131 pounds | Sophomore | St. Albans, West Virginia
Ash won the title at 131 pounds at the Southern Virginia Invitational with four wins. She posted three wins by fall in 1:26 over Ainsley Mate of Marymount, in 17 seconds over Leigh-Anne Verburg of Southern Virginia and in 1:59 over Jayla Mackell Marymount while taking the final win by technical fall, 11-0 over Claire Wortz of Liberty.

Slade Watkins | Mount Olive | 285 pounds | Junior | Crawfordville, Florida
Watkins clinched the dual win in the heavyweight bout on Wednesday night, as the 25th-ranked Trojans captured a 21-20 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas action. With the Crusaders ahead 20-18 entering the final match, Watkins battled to a 1-0 win via decision following an escape in the third round to defeat Mason Kump at 285.
