Belmont Abbey picked atop Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The men’s lacrosse coaches have picked Belmont Abbey College as champions in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll, the conference office announced on Thursday.

The Crusaders won back-to-back regular season titles in 2022 and 2023 and consecutive tournament titles in 2021 and 2022 and are picked to return to the top in 2025. Belmont Abbey collected 61 points and five first place votes to outpace defending regular season and tournament champion, the University of Mount Olive and North Greenville University. Both earned 55 points with Mount Olive taking three first place votes and the Trailblazers earning the final first place vote.

Barton College received 43 points in the fourth spot while Young Harris College received 36 points. Chowan University (25), Emmanuel University (21), Lees-McRae College (16) and Shorter University (12) rounded out the poll.

The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Championship starts with quarterfinal games on campus sites on Tuesday, April 22. The semifinals will take place at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex at the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina on Friday, April 25. The championship game will be on Sunday, April 27 in Mount Olive.

The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches and they can't vote for their own school.
