WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Ellie Jackson | Emmanuel | Outside Hitter | Junior | Jacksonville, Florida

Jackson averaged 4.21 kills and 2.86 digs per set in three Lion Conference Carolinas wins a week ago. She also posted three double-doubles and registered a .351 attack percentage, making only six errors on 151 attempts. She opened the week with 20 kills against one error, 12 digs and seven aces in a four-set win over Erskine. She then added 24 kills and 15 digs in a five-set win at Mount Olive before closing the week with 15 kills and 13 digs in a five-set win at Barton.

Diana Rodriguez | Chowan | Libero/Defensive Specialist | Senior | Tijuana, Mexico

Rodriguez had a big week in the back row for Chowan, averaging 8.08 digs per set in three matches. She posted a season-high 41 digs in a five-set match against Barton before posting 35 digs in three sets against Young Harris. She closed the week with 21 digs in four sets against Shorter.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Omarza Gray | Ferrum | Wide Receiver | Freshman | Roanoke, Virginia

Gray made six receptions for a new school record 203 yards and two touchdowns. His first score was at 5:41 of the second quarter, an 83-yarder. His second TD was with 1:03 left in regulation and Ferrum trailing 25-21. Gray took a pass from Eli Foutz, got a couple of great blocks and scampered 92 yards down the left sideline for the game-winning score in Ferrum's 28-25 win over Shorter. He also has a pair of kick returns for 33 yards, to give him 236 all-purpose yards. The 203 receiving yards in a game is also a Conference Carolinas record and is the first game in the league with at least 200 yards receiving.

Howard led the Trailblazer defense with three tackles and two sacks in North Greenville's win at Chowan.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Ryan Schmidt | Ferrum | Outside Linebacker | Sophomore | Angier, North Carolina

Schmidt had two blocked kicks in Ferrum's 28-25 win over Shorter Saturday. His first block came at 4:28 of the first quarter, when Schmidt thwarted a Shorter field goal attempt. The ball was scooped up by teammate Jamarion Montford, whose touchdown to put Ferrum in front 7-0. Then at 14:21 of the second quarter following a Hawk touchdown, Schmidt blocked the ensuing PAT attempt, which was also recovered by Montford.

Knapp covered the 6k course at the Appalachian State Firetower Project Run in 22:16.6. She was the first NCAA Division II runner to cross the finish line, setting a new school record.
