CONFERENCE CAROLINAS FOOTBALL The inaugural Conference Carolinas Bowl is set for Saturday. The UNC Pembroke-North Greenville winner will receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Football Championship. The NCAA Football Championship Selection Show is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. In a scheduling alliance with the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC); Shorter will travel to Kentucky State and Erskine will travel to Allen. Next year, Conference Carolinas will host two games against the SIAC. IN THE RANKINGS UNC Pembroke moved back into the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) top 25 as they are ranked 25th. The Braves were last in the top 25 on October 23 when they were ranked 20th. UNC Pembroke moved up to sixth in the latest NCAA Division II Super Region Two regional rankings. STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS Barton's Bailey Carraway set the Conference Carolinas record with three sacks in a game, coming against Erskine. Lanear McCrary, Jr. of Shorter improved on his all-purpose yards conference record with 284 against North Greenville on Saturday. Jack Beylo matched the league record with three field goals and set a new mark with 13 points scored kicking. Isaiah Jabobs of Barton and Tarik Bryan of Ferrum both matched the league record with three receiving touchdowns on Saturday.
