GREENVILLE, S.C. – Francis Marion University has claimed the top seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship which begins on Saturday, November 15.
The Patriots, who posted an 18-2 record in Conference Carolinas play won the east division and own an overall record of 21-9. Francis Marion earned the top spot with a KPI of .188, and advances to the tournament semifinals at The Student Center Complex in Bristol, Tennessee on Saturday, November 22 at 5:00 p.m.
Southwest division champion, Converse University also advances to the semifinals as they earned the second seed with a KPI of .169. The Valkyries own an overall record of 21-7 and went 16-4 in Conference Carolinas contests. They will play in the second semifinal on Saturday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Emmanuel University earned the third seed with a KPI of .136 as they advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, November 21. The Lions own an overall record of 18-9 while going 15-5 in league play and will play the winner of the UNC Pembroke (16-14, 13-7), Shorter University (15-13, 12-8), and Barton College (10-17, 7-13) preliminary round. That quarterfinal match will be on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m.
UNC Pembroke earned the sixth seed and will host No. 7 Shorter and No. 12 Barton on Sunday, November 16 in Pembroke, North Carolina. The Hawks will take on Barton at 11:00 a.m. with the winner taking on UNC Pembroke at 1:30 p.m.
The fourth and fifth seeds are North Greenville University and Lees-McRae College. North Greenville will be the fourth seed with a KPI of .085 while the Bobcats take the fifth seed with a .071 KPI.
North Greenville (14-13, 12-8) will host ninth seed King University (12-15, 10-10) and 10th University of Mount Olive (12-16, 10-10) in Tigerville, South Carolina on Saturday, November 15. The Tornado will face Mount Olive at 5:00 p.m. with the winner taking on North Greenville at 7:30 p.m.
Lees-McRae (13-17, 12-8) will host eighth seed Southern Wesleyan University (13-12, 11-9) and 11th seed Belmont Abbey College (11-16, 11-13) on Saturday, November 15 in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Southern Wesleyan will face Belmont Abbey at 1:00 p.m. with the winner taking on Lees-McRae at 4:00 p.m.
All KPI comparisons within .002 are considered ties for the purpose of seeding and the conference's tiebreakers are used to resolve those comparisons. As a result, Lees-McRae (.071) received the fifth seed over UNC Pembroke (.069) by virtue of a head-to-head win. Similarly, Southern Wesleyan (.026) received the eighth seed over King (.026) by virtue of a head-to-head win in their lone meeting of the regular season.
