GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Championship semifinals started with two thrilling contests. North Greenville escaped with two seconds remaining in overtime while Young Harris College scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to advance.

No. 4 North Greenville def. No. 8 Lees-McRae 1-0 (OT)
On paper, the contest was tight with the Trailblazers outshooting Lees-McRae 9-8 in the contest. However, North Greenville placed seven shots on goal to Lees-McRae’s one. The contest remained scoreless through 90 minutes and appeared the game was headed for another extra 10 minutes.

Ognjen Vrkic then ripped a shot from 30 yards out with three seconds remaining that found the upper left 90, giving North Greenville the victory.

No. 2 Young Harris def. No. 3 Chowan 3-2
Ignacio Arribere started the scoring for Young Harris in the 13 minute, but Chowan answered with two first half goals. Jeevan Purewal scored in the 35th minute before Clayton Verdin gave the Hawks the two seconds before halftime.

The score remained the same before Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year Thomas Kleinpenning netted the equalizer for Young Harris in the 81st minute. The tie was short-lived as Leho Le Louarn gave the Mountain Lions the lead with a goal in the 84th minute.

Young Harris will face North Greenville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Championship final.
