BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Young Harris College captured their first Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship crown, taking the 2025 title on Saturday. The Mountain Lions used two goals in a 27-second span in the second half to defeat North Greenville University.
Daniel Orsorno gave Young Harris an early lead as he headed in a corner kick from Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year Thomas Kleinpenning in the eighth minute. The score remained the same at the half and through the first 15 minutes of the second half. North Greenville netted the equalizer in the 63rd minute as Nicholas Vital found Ezra Hoffman in front of the goal.
Young Haris responded 12 minutes later when Filip Zander found Bjarne Renner in the 75th minute to regain the lead. Zander found the back of the net 27 seconds later on a strike from the right side of the box, giving Young Harris the 3-1 lead.
The 3-1 win gives Young Harris their first Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship title and the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship. The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Selection Show will air on NCAA.com on Monday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.
