BAC, FMU headed to Catawba for NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship opening rounds

INDIANAPOLIS – The 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship field was announced on Monday evening and two Conference Carolinas teams were selected. Conference Carolinas champion Belmont Abbey College and runner-up Francis Marion University both received bids.

Belmont Abbey earned the eighth seed and will travel to take on top seed Catawba College in the opening round. Catawba is 16-0-4 overall and ranked second in the United Soccer Coaches national poll while Belmont Abbey is 16-4-1.

Francis Marion is also traveling to Salisbury, North Carolina as they earned the fourth seed and will take on fifth seed Lander University. The Bearcats are 12-3-2 overall while the Patriots are 17-2-0 and ranked 18th nationally.

NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN’S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

The bottom half of the bracket will be played in Dahlonega, Georgia at the University of North Georgia who earned the second seed. The Nighthawks will face seventh seed Anderson University. North Georgia is ranked eighth in the country and owns a record of 17-2-1 while Anderson owns a record of 11-5-2.

The third seed is Columbus State University with a record of 14-5-1 as the Cougars will take on sixth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University who owns a record of 10-4-3.

The opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship is on Friday, November 21 with Francis Marion taking on Lander at 12:00 p.m. and Belmont Abbey taking on Catawba at 3:00 p.m. The winners will then face off in the second round on Sunday, November 23 at 3:00 p.m.
