Smith finished fourth at 207 pounds at the Blue Hose Challenge, going 4-2 at the event. She opened by pinning Allen's Lianna Davis in 2:24 before a defeat dropped her to the consolation bracket. There she rolled off three straight wins, including a pair of pins. She pinned Emory & Henry's Allison Gabarrete in 1:50 before a 1:11 pin of Emma Lozada of Emory & Henry. Smith then topped Anetra Witherspoon of Life 7-4 to reach the third-place bout. She dropped that match, giving her a fourth-place finish.

Moore finished runner-up at the Findlay Open at 197 pounds going 5-1 at the event. He opened with a 7-3 win before a pin of Thomas Reilly of UW Parkside in 3:29 and a 16-1 technical fall of McKendree's Lucas Liberatore. In the quarterfinals, he posted another technical fall, defeating Grand Valley State's Derek Badgley 15-0 before defeating Indianapolis' Ethan Farnell on a 15-4 major decision. However, he fell to a UW Parkside wrestler in the final, giving him a runner-up finish. Earlier in the week he posted Conference Carolinas wins over Bluefield State and Emory & Henry.
