PENSACOLA, Fla. –In the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Football Championship, North Greenville University fell to eighth-ranked University of West Florida.
The Trailblazers played a tough opening quarter as the contest was scoreless before the Argonauts took a 15-0 lead with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. However, North Greenville came back with a 48-second, 75-yard drive on six plays to get on the board with 52 seconds remaining in the half.
Holding a 15-7 lead at halftime, West Florida opened the second half with a touchdown to extend their lead before North Greenville responded with another touchdown to pull within 22-13.
The teams again traded touchdowns, but the Argonauts led 29-19 after a North Greenville touchdown early in the fourth quarter. West Florida then put the game out of reach with a pair of touchdowns in the final 10 minutes to take the contest 43-19.
Dylan Ramirez went 19-of-31 for 289 yards and touchdowns passing while Eric Rasheed caught six passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. Sam Washam caught seven passes for 110 yards.
On defense, Diondre Glover posted an interception while Bryson Olive accounted for nine tackles, seven solo.
North Greenville won the inaugural Conference Carolinas Bowl and finishes the season with a 7-5 record, going 6-0 in league contests.
