BRISTOL, Tenn. – Emmanuel University won the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship title, defeating North Greenville University 3-1.
Emmanuel got off to a hot start, taking a 10-3 lead. The Trailblazers fought back, but the Lions held on to take the set 25-21. The North Greenville offense then heated up, hitting a blistering .293 in a 25-18 second-set win.
The Trailblazer offense stayed hot at the beginning of the third set as they held the advantage until a 3-0 Emmauel run gave the Lions a 20-19 lead and forced a North Greenville timeout. The Lions scored three straight again to break at tie at 20 en route to the 25-22 victory.
Emmanuel used a 4-0 run to jump out to a 6-2 lead in the fourth set and opened up a 12-7 lead forcing North Greenville to use their second timeout of the set. From there the Lions cruised to the 25-12 victory, hitting .242 in the set.
Faith Kelly led Emmanuel with 12 kills and three blocks while Ellie Jackson and Brooke Lee added 10 kills apiece. Jackson added 25 digs while Brooke chipped in with 15 digs. Marusa Pesut handed out 39 assists and added 12 digs.
North Greenville was led by 14 kills and 26 digs from Samantha Ball while Elise Smith posted 12 kills. Anna Fiddelke and Gabby Rice chipped in with 10 kills apiece.
This marks Emmanuel’s fourth Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship title, as the previously won crowns in 2018, 2019 and 2023. The Lions earn the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball Championship. The selection show will be on NCAA.com on Monday, November 24 at 7:30 p.m.
