WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Kenisha Barnes | Mount Olive | Junior | Throws | Salem, North Carolina

In the weight throw, Barnes became the first female athlete to establish an NCAA mark in the Southeast Region this season while competing at the Doc Hale Invitational. She registered a toss of 17.17 meters on her third attempt to place ninth overall in a field of 19 individuals, including several Division I athletes. Barnes holds the top mark in both the Southeast Region and Conference Carolinas in the event this season.

Futoria Harris | Mount Olive | Freshman | Sprints | Fayetteville, North Carolina

Harris set a conference and program record on Friday evening at the Doc Hale Invitational with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash after crossing the line in 7.40 seconds. She breaks her previous mark of 7.49 seconds, which she set in the season-opening Liberty Kickoff in early December. Following her NCAA mark at Virginia Tech, Harris ranks seventh in NCAA Division II in the 60m. Additionally, she improved her NCAA Provisional mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.58
seconds to place sixth overall.

Hamby finished ninth at the Liberty Open with a pole vault of 4.25 meters, a mark that ranks third in Conference Carolinas this season.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Josh Gillis | Lees-McRae | Junior | Distance | Casselberry, Florida

Gillis set the school record in the mile with a time of 4:19.92 when he finsihed sixth at the Camel City Invitational. He also finished runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.91. Both times are the fastest in Conference Carolinas this season.

SOFTBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Calliope James | Chowan | Sophomore | Pitcher/Outfield | Virginia Beach, Virginia

James had a big week for the Hawks, hitting .700 to help Chowan to three wins. She posted two hits in three games and added a single knock in the final contest. She scored twice and drove in three with a home run in the Hawks' game two win over Elizabeth City State. She later laced two doubles in game one against Clarion. For the week she registered seven hits, five runs scored and five runs batted in while ripping a pair of doubles and a home run.

PITCHER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Linda Hodge | Mount Olive | Freshman | Pitcher | Virginia Beach, Virginia

In three appearances this week, Hodge boasted a 1.43 ERA with nine strikeouts and just one walk in 14.1 innings in the circle, as the Trojans split the series with Coker and Augusta last week. On Wednesday, she was called in from the bullpen in Game one and produced a stellar performance. She yielded just two earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks over 6.0 innings in Game one. Over the weekend, Hodge pitched an absolute gem against regional opponent Augusta on the road. She tossed a complete-game shutout with just two hits surrendered and three strikeouts in 7.0 innings.
 

BASEBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Kade Smallwood | Young Harris | Sophomore | First Base | Flowery Branch, Georgia

Smallwood had a big week for the Mountain Lions, hitting .529, going 9-for-17 in four Young Harris contests. He laced three home runs and drove in 10 runs while scoring five times. The sophomore posted three multi-hit and three multi-RBI games, including two games with three hits. He started with three hits and four runs batted in against Lenoir-Rhyne before posting two hits and driving in two the next day against the Bears. He closed teh week with three hits and three runs batted in to help the Mountain Lions top Columbus State. For the week he posted a 1.059 slugging percentage and .600 on base percentage.

PITCHER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Corbin Dickenson | King | Sophomore | Pitcher | Piney Flats, Tennessee

Dickenson earned his first win of the season, defeating Davis & Elkins in five innings of work. In those five innings, he struck out 10 and held the Senators to a .125 batting average. He only allowed one run on two hits.
 

ACROBATICS & TUMBLING
ATHLETE OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Molly Froman | Belmont Abbey | Junior | Top | Woodstock, Georgia

Froman competed in six events as Belmont Abbey earned a season-opening win, 229.145-218.030, over Converse. She competed in compulsory pyramid as the top scoring a 9.7 out a 10.0. She then competed in toss 5 element as the top, completed a 360 twist toe pitch layout off, scoring a 9.55 out of a 10.0. She competed in synchronized pyramid as the top doing a pike pyramid 360 flip to ground, scoring a 9.1 out of 10.0. The junior also competed in open toss doing a front layout 720 scoring a 8.9 out a 9.6.

SPECIALIST OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Olivia Sison | Coker | Junior | Tumbler | Yardley, Pennsylvania

Sison competed as a tumbling specialist in the season-opener where she helped the Cobras to the highest synchronized tumbling score from all three teams at the tri-meet, scoring 9.1 out of 9.55. She also competed in an individual pass where she scored an 8.975 out of 9.55 helping the team to an event total of 48.1. This extended the team's lead over Wingate by 2.1 points and over Emmanuel by 5.3 points, eventually contributing to a pair of Cobra victories.
 

WOMEN'S WRESTLING
WRESTLER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Melanie Mendoza | King | 123 pounds | Senior | Selma, California

On Tuesday evening against Emory & Henry, Mendoza helped the Tornado come away with a win to clinch a share of the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas regular season title. She locked up a cradle in the first 10 seconds of the match and secured a win by fall in 22 seconds over Natalia Sanchez at 117 pounds.
 

MEN'S WRESTLING
WRESTLER OF THE WEEKPrevious Winners
Raife Smart | Mount Olive | 197 pounds | Sophomore | Stratford, Wisconsin

A native of Stratford, Wisconsin, Smart captured a critical victory for the Trojans at 197 pounds, as the Trojans secured the top seed in the Conference Carolinas East Division and a share of the regular season crown with a 29-10 win over Newberry. On Thursday, Smart battled to a 5-2 decision to upset eighth-ranked ranked John Walker to help lead Mount Olive to victory on Senior Day at Kornegay Arena. Smart finished Conference Carolinas duals with an 8-1 record this season.
