GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas swept the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Player and Pitcher of the Week. Barton College's Evan Harding earned player of the week honors while Shorter University's Tanner Folds took home pitcher of the week recognition.
Harding recorded a .563 batting average, going 9-for-16 with a pair of home runs and two doubles. He also drove in nine runs and scored six runs over four games. He drove in six runs on two home runs and a double in the series finale against King. In that contest, he also posted four hits and scored three runs in the 9-6 win.
Folds tossed eight innings against third-ranked North Greenville, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out six. He held the Trailblazers to a .185 batting average as Shorter earned a 3-2 win with a run in the ninth inning.
