CARY, N.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships saw repeat champions from 2024. Emmanuel University took the men's title while UNC Pembroke won the women's title at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, North Carolina.
Emmanuel wins their fifth straight Conference Carolinas Men's Swimming championship with the University of Montevallo finished runner-up.
Braves won their second straight Conference Carolinas Women's Swimming crown with Emmanuel taking a runner-up finish.
Day Four Recap
Sofia Pereira and Britta Schwengle of UNC Pembroke both swam under the Conference Carolinas Championship record in the 1650 yard freestyle with Pereira taking gold in 17:16.07. Both swimmers posted NCAA Division II B cut times.
Henry Stockton of Converse University won the men's 1650 yard freestyle with an NCAA Division II B cut time of 15:52.40.
In the women's 200 yard backstroke, Emmanuel University's Isabell Schiller broke the conference championship record in the prelims and finals, winning the event with an NCAA Division II B cut time of 2:00.89. Maja Krawczyk of the University of Montevallo also posted an NCAA Division II B cut time, finishing runner-up.
King University's Eduardo Elizaran Galan won the men's 200 yard backstroke.
The top three finishers in the women's 100 yard freestyle all posted NCAA Division II B cut times with Emmanuel's Alexandra Cerbino setting that time twice on the day. Cerbino won the event in 51.56 seconds while Fabiana Pesce of UNC Pembroke finished runner-up and Dariely Ortiz of Emmanuel came in third.
In the men's 100 yard freestyle, Aleksei Kolesnikov of Montevallo and Aleksei Belolipetskii both registered NCAA Division II B cut times with Kolesnikov taking home gold in 44.16 seconds.
UNC Pembroke's Benedetta Pepe Pugliese won the women's 200 yard breaststroke in an NCAA Division II B cut time of 2:19.34. In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, Emmanuel's Maximilliano Benitez touched the wall first in an NCAA Division II B cut time of 2:00.67.
The top three finishers in the women's 200 yard butterfly all registered NCAA Division II B cut times, starting with gold medalist Beth Balent of Montevallo with a time of 2:03.49. Fatima Portilo and Katie Raleigh, both of UNC Pembroke finished second and third, respectively.
Both Guillermo Perosanz and Nedas Giedriatis of Emmanuel set NCAA Division II B cut times in the men's 200 yard butterfly with Perosanz taking gold in 1:48.43.
Emmanuel won the women's 400 yard freestyle relay in a Conference Carolinas Championship time of 3:26.25. Montevallo won the men's 400 yard freestyle relay to finish the meet.

Day Three Recap
Emmanuel leads Montevallo in the men's standings while UNC Pembroke leads Emmanuel in the women's standings going into the final day.
Emmanuel University's Isabell Schiller set the women's 400 yard individual medley Conference Carolinas Championship record in the prelims, and lowered that time with an NCAA B cut with a conference title time of 4:19.46. Benedetta Pepe Pugliese of UNC Pembroke and Beth Balent of the University of Montevallo also posted NCAA Division II B cut times.
Oscar Kroos of King University won the men's 400 yard individual medley with a time of 3:59.25.
Montevallo's Keara McGee and Emmanuel's Marcela Alonso both registered 100 yard butterfly NCAA Division II cuts. McGee took home the conference title with a conference record time of 54.77 seconds.
In the men's 100 yard butterfly, Aleksei Kolesnikov of Montevallo and Emmanuel's Neda Giedraitis both posted NCAA Division II B cut times with Kolesnikov setting the conference record with an event-winning time of 46.44 seconds.
Britta Schwengle of UNC Pembroke won the women's 200 yard freestyle with an NCAA Division B cut time while Henty Stockton of Converse University won the men's 200 yard freestyle with an NCAA B cut time.
UNC Pembroke's Ianna Gomez Veloz won the women's 100 yard breaststroke before two NCAA Division II B cut times in the men's 100 yard backstroke. Natan Mometto of Barton College won the event while Chowan's Aleksei Belolipetskii also posted an NCAA Division II B cut time.
Montevallo's Petra Cajkas and Maja Krawczyk both posted times lower that the Conference Carolinas Championship record in the women's 100 yard backstroke with Cajkas winning the event in 56.38 seconds. Emmanuel's Guillermo Perosanz won the men's 100 yard backstroke.
Emmanuel closed the day with wins in both the women's and men's 400 yard medley relay.
The final day of the championship on Saturday will feature preliminaries starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by the finals for the day that begin at 5:00 p.m.
Day Two Recap
In the women's 500 yard freestyle, Sofia Pereira of UNC Pembroke took home the conference title while the University of Montevallo's Alexandria Morgan came in runner-up. Both simmers posted NCAA Division II B cut times.
Emmanuel University's Enzo Silva and Converse University's Henry Stockton both posted NCAA B cut times in the men's 500 yard freestyle with Silva taking gold and Stockton silver.
Isabella Schiller of Emmanuel registered an NCAA Division II B cut and Conference Carolinas Championship record in the prelims of the women's 200 yard individual medley. She lowered that time to take gold with a finals time of 2:02.28, taking two seconds off of the previous record.
Chowan University's Aleksei Belolipetskii won his third Conference Carolinas title in the 200 yard individual medley.
The top three finishers in the 50 yard freestyle all registered NCAA Division II B cut times with Emmanuel's Alexandria Cerbino touching the wall first in 23.61 seconds. She was followed by Barton College's Megan Schueller (23.65) and Fabian Pesce of UNC Pembroke in 23.75 seconds.
Aleksei Kolesnikov of Montevallo won the men's 50 yard freestyle in an NCAA Division II B cut time of 20.03 seconds.
UNC Pembroke won the women's 200 yard freestyle relay while Converse won the men's 200 yard freestyle relay.
The third day of the championship on Friday will feature preliminaries starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by the finals for the day that begin at 5:00 p.m.
Day One Recap
The women's 1000 yard freestyle was won by UNC Pembroke's Sofia Pereira in a conference record time for the second straight year, finishing in 10:22.83. Her teammate, Britta Schwengle also finished under the previous record, taking a runner-up finish.
The men's 1000 yard freestyle finish was separated by 0.01 seconds between a pair of Emmanuel University teammates. Enzo Silva won the event in 9:34.03 with Yagiz Ari finishing runner-up.
The Emmanuel women's 200 yard medley relay finished first with a new conference record of 144:85 while UNC Pembroke also finished under the previous record with a runner- time of 1:45.04.
The men's 200 yard medley relay had the top three teams touch the wall within one second with Emmanuel taking the crown in 1:32.08. Converse University finished runner-up at 1:32.65 and Lees-McRae College came in third in 1:32.75.
The day concluded with the 800 yard freestyle with Emmanuel coming within 0.03 seconds of the conference record, taking the 2025 title in 7:35.83. The Emmanuel men also won the 800 yard freestyle relay, setting a new conference record by nearly three seconds with a time of 6:43.60.
