FINAL RESULTS
FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The South Atlantic Conference Carolinas had four of the top five teams at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Coalition (NCWWC) Region III Championships. Emmanuel University led the way with a runner-up finish while Lions and King University each had 10 individuals qualify for the NCWWC National Championships.
The top four finishers at each weight class qualified for the NCWWC National Championships that will take place on March 7-8 in Coralville, Iowa.
King will send 10 individuals, including six regional champions, Avery Kibelbek (103 pounds), Samara Chavez (110 pounds), Clare Booe (117 pounds), Montana DeLawder (124 pounds), Anna DiCugno (131 pounds) and Aine Drury (145 pounds).
Emmanuel will also send 10 individuals, including three runner-up finishes, coming from Kendra Heroch at 160 pounds, Alyssa Arana at 180 pounds and Gemma Templeman at 207 pounds.
The University of Mount Olive had two individuals qualify, Lilian Prendergast at 103 pounds and Ayonna McNeill at 124 pounds. Emory & Henry University has one qualifier, Molly Keller at 145 pounds as she won her fourth place bout over Sofia Vergara to qualify.
Presbyterian College won the NCWWCA Region III Championship with 160 points, ahead of Emmanuel with 155 points. King finished third, followed by Mount Olive and Emory & Henry.
