WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships wrapped up on Monday with Converse University winning the men’s title and the University of Mount Olive taking the women’s crown.
Converse wins their first men’s Conference Carolinas championship with 130 points, ending Mount Olive’s eight-year run. The Trojans finished runner-up with 127 points while UNC Pembroke came in third with 114 points.
On the women’s side, Mount Olive wins their third title in four years with 197 points with Converse finishing runner-up with 137 points.
MONDAY RECAP
Mount Olive’s Futoria Harris set a conference and meet record, winning the women’s 60 meter dash in 7.44 seconds. She did the same in the women’s 200 meters with a time of 24.24 seconds. In the women’s triple jump, Janara Bryant of Mount Olive set a new meet record with a leap of 12.26 meters.
Mekhi Hayes of UNC Pembroke set a meet record, winning the men’s 200 meters in 21.63 seconds. In the men’s 3000 meters, Ronan O’Neill of Southern Wesleyan set a new meet record with a winning time of 8:26.85.
For the first time in championship history, the men’s heptathlon was competed with Belmont Abbey’s Joshua Gulapa winning the title with 4,475 points.

SUNDAY RECAP
The event started with the first ever women’s pentathlon in conference history as Converse University’s Kennedy Wright took home gold with 3041 points.
Southern Wesleyan University won the men’s distance medley relay in 10:19.53 while North Greenville University won the women’s distance medley relay in 12:41.81.
Ronan O’Neill of Southern Wesleyan won the men’s 5,000 meters with a time of 14:42.81 while Moureen Kimaiyo of UNC Pembroke won the women’s 5,000 meters with a time of 18:10.89.
Gary Park won the men’s weight throw with a mark of 17.51 meters while Kenisha Barnes of Mount Olive won the women’s weight throw with a mark of 16.92 meters. Ine the long jump, Converse University’s Kaden Gamble was the men’s winner with a mark of 7.17 while Mount Olive’s Janara Bryant won the women’s with a leap of 5.88 meters.
Belmont Abbey’s Kelly Hay set a meet record two win the men’s pole vault, clearing 4.85 meters while UNC Pemroke’s Carina Fiorucci cleared 3.32 meters to win the women’s pole vault.
Three records fell in the prelims, Channie Jefferson on the University of Mount Olive set a conference and meet record in the women’s 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.64 seconds and Mount Olive’s Futoria Harris set the conference and meet record in the women’s 60 meter dash with a time of 7.40 seconds. UNC Pembroke’s Mekhi Hayes set a meet record with a men’s 200 meter time of 21.59 seconds.
After five scored events, UNC Pembroke leads the men’s standings with 53 points. They are followed by Converse and Mount Olive with 32 points apiece. Mount Olive sits atop the women’s standings after six scored events with 63 points. Converse is second with 52 points and they are followed by UNC Pembroke in third with 30 points.
The final day of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships gets underway on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with the men’s heptathlon. The field events then get underway at 10:30 a.m. before the track events start at 11:20 a.m.
