Barton, North Greenville advance to 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship semifinals

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship started with a pair of quarterfinal contests on Wednesday night. Barton College and North Greenville University both won their quarterfinal matches to advance to next week’s semifinals.

Third seed Barton hit .345 in a sweep of sixth seed King University. The Bulldogs took the first set 25-15 before winning the second set 25-13. Barton finished off the win, taking the third set 25-19.

Jack Sandahl led Barton with 12 kills while Lawson Hink added 10 kills.

Barton advances to the semifinals where they will face second seed Belmont Abbey College. That match will take place on Friday, April 25 at King in Bristol, Tennessee at 7:30 p.m.

Fifth seed Erskine College jumped ahead at fourth seed North Greenville, taking the first set 25-22. However, the Trailblazers fought back to take the second set 27-25 and the third set 25-19 behind a .458 attack percentage. North Greenville closed out the victory by winning the fourth set 25-20.

Carter Shomock led North Greenville with 15 kills while Logan Keothavy added 14 kills and nine digs.

North Greenville advances to face top seed University of Mount Olive in the first semifinal on Friday, April 25 at 5:00 p.m. at King.
