GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced their 2025 women’s tennis all-conference awards prior to the start of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship that starts on Thursday.
The all-conference awards were voted on by the Conference Carolinas women’s tennis head coaches.
Pati Vedia Sanchez of Lees-McRae College was selected as the player of the year. She went 12-7 overall in singles play and posted an 8-2 mark in Conference Carolinas matches playing at the top flight. She also played the top flight in doubles, posting a 14-6 overall record and 7-3 mark in league matches.
Young Harris College’s Maud Scholten garnered freshman of the year honors. She played primarily at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, posting an overall mark of 12-7 and 8-2 record in conference matches. In doubles play, Scholten played primarily at No. 2 doubles and registered a 5-6 record in conference matches.
Randy Bloemendaal was tabbed coach of the year for the fifth time and first time since 2003. He guided the Bobcats to the Conference Carolinas regular season title with a 10-0 record in conference play. Lees-McRae owns a 16-5 overall record heading into the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship.
